The Name Pachmana is a variation of the Incan Goddess, Pachamama or Mama Pacha, the goddess of fertility, planting and harvesting. She presides over the heavens, the earth, pregnant women, and really, over everything.
Pachamama is perhaps the most prevalent 'Mother Earth' or benevolent Earth Goddess, found as the first and foremost deity across the globe. She can be found 4,000-5,000 years ago in the Temples of Malta that were devoted to Mother Earth. They exist as the oldest standing structures in our world, predating the pyramids of Egypt and Stonehenge by centuries. Ancient civilizations worshipped her for the abundant gifts she bestowed upon them; food, water, shelter, warmth and so much more. Our ancestors were deeply connected to the earth and considered themselves part of her.
Ancient cultures didn't attempt to explain the mysteries of the natural world or the inner workings of the self, they simply accepted their existence as part of the earth and everything she had to give and receive.
Alpaca, was believed to be a gift from Pachamama, the Inca's sacred earth mother– alpaca have been present during the rise and fall of many human civilizations from the point of their domestication 6,000 years ago. As the lives of the alpaca and humans became increasingly and intricately woven within ancient South American culture, they became revered and honored for their integral place in society. The people of the Andes developed an exquisite language of gratitude for these precious and gentile animals who sing to their babies by humming, and as induced ovulators, only breed to a male who courts her with his song and affection.
